Problem
Desmond measures the height of a door as 200 cm with a percentage error of 0.5%. Find the maximum absolute error of the measurement.
Solution

Hints:

1 cm

Percentage error = \\frac{\\text{absolute error}}{\\text{measurement}} \\times 100. So, 0.5 = \\frac{\\text{absolute error}}{200} \\times 100. Absolute error = \\frac{0.5 \\times 200}{100} = 1 \\text{ cm}.
